OUI Carole is a contemporary lifestyle brand with thoughtful curation for everyday living. Founded by Host, Style Expert and multidisciplinary artist, Melissa Chataigne, OUI Carole believes that everyday should be intentional and sustainable for a life well styled.
Known for her distinctive approach that spans both interiors and sustainable fashion, Melissa has built a career from turning pain into purpose. Oui Carole has grown from a hobby to an e-commerce destination that celebrates the art of intentional living.
As an established fashion stylist and TV Personality, Melissa spent over 15 years as a celebrity style. She used ceramics to connect to her mother's favorite creative medium. She designs inspirational and gracefully functional clay-ware that reflects a timeless aesthetic. With an eye for understated elegance and in celebration of her mother's spirit, she hand-builds, hand-throws and crochets each one-of-a-kind pieces in downtown Los Angeles. Melissa continues to study how ritual objects elevate everyday experiences. She often travels throughout abroad to shop vintage and meet with communities to research the use of objects in ceremonial traditions.
It is her belief that focusing on small curated batches and encouraging clients shop sustainable fashion is living in alignment with purpose. Appreciating the importance of piece each is what makes OUI Carole unique.
Honoring My Mother
I created OUI Carole in 2020, after taking pottery classes to feel closer to my mother after her passing in fall 2019. My mother, Carole was an avid potter and loved hand building; creating whimsical pieces throughout our home and expressed that she longed to make ceramics and full-time career, but felt pressured to have a more serious profession thus pursued nursing. I’m grateful my mother always supported my ambitions and Oui Carole was born out of the love of art, striving to creative timeless designs, All items are designed and handmade by Melissa in Los Angeles.
